Wedged between Tampa International Airport and the Westshore business corridor, Town ‘n’ Country is filled with those dense and established neighborhoods largely built back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. A lot of those homes haven’t seen a full roof replacement in decades, and they need it. Plus, add to that that Town ‘n’ Country is Tampa Bay’s primary hurricane approach corridor. No one needs reminding that storms tracking up from the Gulf hammer Hillsborough County hard (Helene, 2024; Irma, 2017). Combine it all with humidity, salt air (particularly around the Rocky Point, Channel 1, or Sweetwater Creek), and summer storm season, and Town ‘n’ County roofs go through the wringer.
We know that Town ‘n’ Country’s residents value no frills, honest talk, and fair pricing. Luckily for them, we offer it all. Handyman Roofing has been serving the area since the late 70s, and we’re only a short 20 minute drive via SR-60 or the Courtney Campbell Causeway from our office in Clearwater.
Here’s what we offer our customers.
This is our most common call in Town ‘n’ Country (and everywhere we serve, really). Town ‘n’ Country goes through a lot: shingle blow-off from Helene (2024) and Idalia (2023), failing flashing on older concrete homes, soffit damage from woodpeckers, and fascia and decking rot.
Whatever the roof needs, we can deliver. We also offer 24/7 emergency roofing repair in Town ‘n’ Country, so you won’t be left for an entire weekend or holiday waiting to get your roof fixed in Hillsborough County,
Roofs here tell a story. For example, a 1972 concrete block ranch on Hanley Road or Linebaugh Ave is likely on its second roof, and that second roof may now be 20-25 years old. Plus, the post-Ian and post-Helene insurance environment has pushed a lot of homeowners to replace rather than settle for a repair since insurers are more strict on renewing policies on older roofs here.
Roof replacements aren’t cheap, we know; we offer financing to help our Town ‘n’ County neighbors, though. Replacement is often something you can’t put off, even though you may have sticker shock. We do everything we can to lessen that and make it a seamless experience.
Shingles are pretty much the standard for millions of roofs across Florida and the country. It’s a solid option, with a lifespan of around 20-25 years, simple maintenance (much simpler to repair one singular shingle than a whole section), and cost effectiveness. Handyman installs shingles exceeding Florida Building Code wind standards, since your roof will have to put up with high winds.
Tile roofing is a bit less dominant here in Town ‘n’ Country, but is by no means absent. Newer construction will have tile, and houses surrounding Town ‘n’ Country sport tile often. Either way, who doesn’t love seeing a stylish tile roof? Aesthetically pleasing as well as durable, tile roofing has great longevity and weathers the elements well.
If you’re focused solely on reliability, metal roofing is your go-to option here. If you’re doing a full roof replacement here and you want a “forget about it” option, metal roofing lasts around 40-70 years, and is wind-resistant. It is more expensive, but it could end up paying off when you don’t need a replacement in 25 years.
Flat roofing is extremely prevalent here in Town ‘n’ Country. We see a lot of older homes with flat or low-slope sections: carport enclosures, rear additions, patio covers converted to living space. We install TPO and EPDM roofing; TPO’s a great option for UV resistance especially. Drainage design is a big consideration since flat roofing’s failures are often tied to drainage problems. We take care of all of that.
